Zverev thrashes GB's Fery to reach Vienna semis

Alexander Zverev marked his rise to world number one with a dominant victory over Britain's Arthur Fery to reach the semi-finals of the Vienna Open.

The German top seed, who is set to replace Jannik Sinner at the summit of the men's rankings, needed just 58 minutes to secure a comprehensive 6-0 6-2 win.

Fery did not look at his best throughout the encounter after receiving treatment on his leg near the end of his last-16 win over Lorenzo Musetti on Thursday.

The match was a repeat of the pair's Wimbledon semi-final this summer, which Zverev won in straight sets to end Fery's remarkable run.
