9pm, BBC Two “Gastronomy is the French Foreign Legion,” says Marco Pierre White. “They don’t question you too much.” In the 1980s, the culinary desert of the UK saw the rise of three difficult, brilliant chefs (Pierre White was joined by Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal) who triggered a foodie revolution.
