Russia's international ice hockey ban overturned

The Court of Arbitration for Sport has overturned the ban on Russia by ice hockey's global governing body.
Russia have been suspended from competing in International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) events since the country invaded Ukraine in February 2022.
Earlier this year the IIHF said Russia's teams would remain excluded after a review by the organisation's council.
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) appealed that decision to Cas, which has upheld it following an in-person hearing at its headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland.
A statement from Cas, external said that arguments made by the IIHF "citing safety, security and other concerns" were "not supported by sufficient evidence".
