Canadian 'Crypto King' found guilty of fraud

A Toronto jury has found self-described "Crypto King" Aiden Pleterski guilty of fraud, after hearing evidence he stole millions of dollars of investor money and spent it on private jets and other luxuries.
The jury quickly reached its verdict on Thursday, convicting the 27-year-old with one count of fraud over C$5,000 ($3,600; £2,900), after just hours of deliberation.
Throughout trial, Crown prosecutors called over a dozen witnesses, including investors whom Pleterski had cheated, and accountants and financial experts who testified on his scheme.
Pleterski pleaded not guilty and represented himself at his trial, cross-examining only one witness. He presented no evidence and did not testify.
